Thankfully our toilet is separate from our bathroom. This is pretty typical of a home Western-style toilet, with a sink above the bowl so you can wash your hands when you flush and the water goes into the tank for the next flush. Clean and easy, and no noticeable soap build up in the tank.
I have a tiny utility bathroom with no sink and absolutely no room to install one. I had wondered if there were ideas like this -- this would be perfect! That rug is pretty neat, too.
Actually it's western-style in that the seat is raised. Japanese-style toilets are the traditional squat toilets, with a porcelain trough sunk into the ground. I've actually only seen these sink/toilet combos in Japan - in fact it's rare to find a toilet without a sink above it.
Hi, gomichild -- I don't know if you visit the forum, but because of your photo, I have already found a place where I could order a toilet-top sink from gaiam.com. Thank you for the inspiration. :-)
Hmmm seems that I can't register on the forum - but I was going to confirm that the water does not come from the tank but straight from the tap, just like all the other faucets in the place.
gomichild, please read the instructions more carefully. while trying to register to the forum you are filling in some info that labels you as a spambot.
AH ok - you might want to consider altering the template to take out profile options if they can't be filled in at this stage. I know phpBB is notorious for spam currently - but you have to weigh users ease of use against spam prevention sometimes.
This is such a brilliant idea!!! I'd never seen anything like it. And thanks gomichild for sharing and explaining how it all works in Japan. This is one of the great things about this site.
