Biography Born to urban gypsies, with my father being an inveterate trash-picker and yard sale shopper, I learned very early that home is something that is crafted by the heart and hands, and not necessarily your wallet. The tradition carries on with me today, where I hunt down items on curbsides, thrift shops, and garage sales, all in an effort to affect the same cozy feeling of my childhood home.

May 09, 2008 at 06:32I would move the painting that is centered over your table more toward the windows, probably about 2-3 feet. A floor plant in the bit of wall that separates the two windows, a throw rug (round would be cool) in a deep colour like anthracite grey. Pull colours from the bricks to use as accents in your accessories like throw pillows, large ceramic pieces. Find a nice contrast to the reddish hues of the brick. I'm thinking of a lime green similar to the graphic in the art work over the table.
